The tree went up at work. That means I don't have to put one up at the house, right??

Marlin (320/365)

~*~*~

Marlin: Now it's my turn. I'm thinking of something dark and mysterious. It's a fish we don't know. If we ask it directions, it could ingest us and spit out our bones.
Dory: What is it with men and asking for directions?
Marlin: I don't want to play the gender card right now. You want to play a card, let's play the "let's not die" card.
~ Finding Nemo (2003)

PLACE: Cubicle Hell
SUBJECT: Marlins

We have an intern in accounting - today was his last day. Yes, his internship is over, but more exciting, he is headed to Florida to try out for the Florida Marlins.

There has been significant sewer/water work being done in Podunk - specifically the sewer/water supply to my work place. We've had several 2-3 hour water shut downs but had a full day shut down Thursday. Fortunately, my employer decided it was time to provide some temporary facilities!

Boo (274/365)

~*~*~

I don't enjoy the boo scare when you're watching a movie and then suddenly there's a big shark on the screen. The only thing they're doing is catching you off guard.
~ Sergio Aragones

TIME: 5:00 PM
PLACE: Cubicle Hell
SUBJECT: Boo

The 1st of October all of the Halloween decorations begin adorning the tops of cubicles. This is my only decoration - the ghost who only looks scary because he resembles the Michelin Man on crack!

It's September. My 5 days of sick time is LONG gone and I needed to make up the 4 hours of time I lost yesterday due to Cam's battle with Neosporin. Thank goodness there was coffee!

There is a small group of us doing a "Biggest Loser" contest at work. Every week we weigh in and pay $2 to participate and every week there are 1st and 2nd place winners (based on percentage of weight lost) who win $7 and $3 dollars respectively. We are in week 6 of a 12 week contest and I am proud to say that I've lost 9 pounds in those 6 weeks. I even won the $7 first prize this week!

Maybe I'm just ready for winter to end, but when I looked at the pile of plowed snow in the parking lot, melted by sun and wind, I could almost smell the froth of the ocean!
